Geschichte: Michael Andersen liefert seit 1890 erhabenes dänisches Design und Keramik an engagierte Sammler auf der ganzen Welt, von New York bis Tokio. Michael Andersen (1859-1931) wurde als Keramiker bei Lauritz Hjorth in Rønne auf Bornholm ausgebildet. Michael Andersen übernahm 1890 Th. Stibolts Keramikunternehmen in Rønne und führte es unter seinem eigenen Namen weiter. Das Keramikunternehmen lässt sich bis ins Jahr 1771 datieren. 1935 gewinnt Michael Andersen auf der Weltausstellung in Brüssel (Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles) eine prestigeträchtige Goldmedaille für seine Glasur und wird zu Recht als Meister bezeichnet aus Glasur. Ab 1930 wurde das Stadtwappen von Rønne mit den drei Fischen als Logo verwendet .

Excellent Tool for Approaching Homer via English

I love the Loeb editions of Homer. I've already ready the Odyssey, now moving on to the Iliad. What I've especially started to enjoy with this volume of the Iliad is the editors decision to "call out" which lines were rejected by which ancient commentators (Aristarchus, etc.). This adds some fun to the reading because you get to review the line in Greek and try to surmise why they rejected it, or how the passage would work without the line. The translation is reasonably modern but still "lordly" and has the tone of a war epic. It was enjoyable to read aloud in both English and Greek.
