Nase
Die Au Vignerais Cuvée Zen reiht sich nahtlos ein in die frische, klare und helle Aromatik des 2020er Jahrgangs bei La Soufrandière. Zitronenabrieb und frisch aufgeschnittene Zitronen sowie Limequats, etwas Anis und Bleistift, Stein und Austernschalen kann man hier ebenso finden wie eine im Hintergrund versteckte seidige Note von Birnencreme und etwas Hefe.

Gaumen
Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Wein überaus saftig und elegant. Hier kommt eine dem 1er Cru gerecht werdende zusätzliche Dimension von Tiefe und Körperlichkeit mit ins Spiel. Der Chardonnay wirkt spannungs- und druckvoll mit seiner lebendigen Säure, gleichzeitig aber enorm cremig, seidig, süffig in seiner reifen Frucht und dann wiederum steinig und kühl, leicht elektrisierend und salzig. Der nur geringe Schwefelanteil lässt den Wein offen erscheinen, leicht hefig und extraktsüß, was sich zusammen mit der Salzigkeit vehement auf den Trinkfluss auswirkt.

Informationen zum Wein
Die Bret-Brüder besitzen im Climat Au Vignerais in der Appellation Pouilly-Fuissé 0,49 Hektar. Der Weinberg liegt am Südhang des Roche de Solutré auf einer Höhe von fast 300 m und verfügt über 35 Jahre alte Chardonnay-Reben auf eisenhaltigem Lehm- und Kalkboden aus dem Bajocium (Jura). Handlese am 29. August 2020, Ganztraubenpressung und Spontanvergärung, danach Ausbau über 17 Monate in sieben bis 18 Jahre alten Fässern mit 100 % malolaktischer Gärung. Der zugesetzte Schwefel beträgt 35 mg/l je nach Fass.
