Der Smart BatteryProtect trennt die Batterie von den weniger wichtigen Verbrauchern, bevor sie vollständig entladen ist (wodurch sie beschädigt würde) bzw. bevor sie nicht mehr über ausreichend Energie zum Starten des Motors verfügt.

Durch die Verwendung von Bluetooth zur Programmierung des Smart BatteryProtect lassen sich sämtliche erforderlichen Ein-/Abschalt-Schwellwerte einstellen. Alternativ lässt sich einer von neun voreingestellten Ein-/Abschalt-Schwellwerten mithilfe des Programmierungs-Pins einstellen (siehe Handbuch).

Sofern notwendig lässt sich die Bluetooth-Funktion abstellen.

Der Smart BatteryProtect ist ein unidirektionales Gerät. Es erlaubt nur Strom in einer Richtung, also entweder Strom zu einem Verbraucher oder mit Strom von einem Ladegerät, aber nicht beide Ströme gleichzeitig. Außerdem kann der Strom nur vom EIN-Anschluss zum AUS-Anschluss fließen. Bei Verwendung mit einem Verbraucher ist die Batterie an den EIN-Anschluss anzuschließen, bei Verwendung mit einem Ladegerät ist das Ladegerät an den EIN-Anschluss anzuschließen.

I spent probably about an hour putting it together, only to take it right back apart and pack it up to return. The dimples for half the poles were on the wrong side (double and triple checked to make sure they couldn't be spun around. The threaded ends for the wheels were freely spinning on all but 2 wheels, making it impossible to actually tighten them fully. Once it was all put together, the screens could not be folded up to neatly put it aside when not in use. All in all, this was shamefully low quality for the money spent.
