Der Calycanthus ‘Venus’ oder Gewürzstrauch ist ein starker Strauch mit besonders schönen weißen Blüten. Sie haben etwas Ähnlichkeit mit Magnolien. Im Herbst hat die 'Venus' auch einen hohen Zierwert. Die großen Blätter haben dann eine warme goldgelbe Farbe. Die winterfeste Calycanthus blüht 2 Mal pro Jahr. Zuerst im Frühling und dann erneut im Sommer.
