Until now, our user-adjustable Fox 2.0 and 2.5 Series Syncro Rear Shocks could only be fitted to a 4WD because they were too long for the axels on a 2WD. This nifty limiting strap kit allows you to install either of our (formerly) 4WD-only rear shocks on manual 2WD without fear of overextending the axles.
The advantage of our rear 2.0 and 2.5 Fox shocks previously suitable only for Syncro is that they are adjustable so you can dial them in as desired. Our 2.5 shock has more advanced adjustability than the 2.0 version, and it can absorb an order of magnitude more energy making it simply the ultimate, no-holds-barred shock for the Vanagon. Wait a minute, aren't 2WD axles the same length as Syncro? Yes they are, but the Syncro engine and transaxle sit a full 2" lower than a 2WD which allows for a longer-travel rear shock. If you install a longer shock on a 2WD, your CV joints will bind at full droop. No bueno! So, if you want the adjustability of the Syncro rear shocks we offer, you need these limit straps to protect your CV joints.
Fits: Manual 1980-91 2WD when fitted with GoWesty Adjustable Fox 2.0 or 2.5 Rear Shocks.
