Italian library music expert Alessandro Casella on Nelson Psychout: "Welcome to the second release of Vampisoul's Psychout series. In this album we dig into the record library of Nelson Records, founded in 1970 by the musicians Maurizio Majorana, Antonello Vannucchi and Roberto Podio after establishing the recording studio Telecinesound, right where the New Italian Library Sound was created. This is the sound that many collectors, musicians, record producers and film directors still like, look for, rediscover and re-use for their work. The New Italian Library Sound has the signature of I Marc 4, a quartet that recorded 20 albums from 1970 to 1980 but who also collaborated with the great masters of Italian soundtracks of the '60s and '70s, especially with Armando Trovajoli, bringing their own style into this new sound, mixing jazz, pop, rock and psychedelic music. Maurizio Majorana on bass, Antonello Vannucchi on Hammond organ and piano, and Roberto Podio on drums, were the backbone of the quartet, but the real soul was the guitarist Carlo Pes. Although Pes played with the RAI (Italy's public broadcaster) orchestra together with his three colleagues, he did so as an external musician. He was a virtuoso guitar player with international experience who wrote music for the pop singers of the great RCA Italy label. His biggest hits were 'Il Mondo', sung by Jimmy Fontana, and 'Che Sarà' by José Feliciano. Thanks to their recording visits to Telecinesound, these four musicians were an experienced and very inspired studio band. Through their rhythmic experimentation they created a warm sound, sweet, most of the time sour-sweet, inspired by pop music of the period, filtered by their great technical execution. Their jazz roots did the rest to create the New Italian Library Sound. Any derivation of the pysch-groove genre is explored in this album. Despite having collaborated with the great artists of pop music, it is only in I Marc 4's own records that we have the chance to hear a guitar so rough, aggressive and sometimes disturbing, as was required by the composers of the time. Look nice and were an easy setup.

Simple and do what they are supposed to do. I use them to add a bit of flare to my desktop setup for online meetings, etc. If I had to nitpick, I'd say cabling is always interesting to route to reduce desk clutter, but I am not going to remove a star for what pretty much has to be. They look nice too.

Good, but missing white (ww) hues hurt performance

I bought these lights just a little over a year ago, and overall I’m pleased with them. I bought them because standard strip lighting does not work well with the shape of my ultra flat TV, something I did not consider on purchasing the TV.
The lighting effects that these can produce are really impressive, at times you can see what appears to be the individual LEDs and the effects are somewhat more granular or pixelated than other lights from GOVEE.
The issue I have with these lights is that they are not able to produce cool, white and warm white, and they do not render colors like other bulbs from GOVEE. Colors on these lights tend to be brighter than every other light source I have from Govee, including their lightbulbs and their floor lamps. Although I knew about the white rendering, I did not realize how annoying it would be to see warm, white and cool, white rendered poorly on these TV lights. If you want to truly seamless and integrated looking product, I suggest you look elsewhere as these aren’t quite there. If you don’t care or are using these in a room where you don’t have any other light sources from Govee, then go for it — you’ll love them.

Great way to control TV and radio in one room from an easy chair in another room!
I help a 96 year old blinded vet with tech support -- and as his health worsens, needed to make his TV, his radio, and the audio switch that selects what audio should go into his hearing aids via Bluetooth work from his easy chair in his living room. All the equipment is in his bedroom. This IR repeater system installed quickly and easily and works perfectly. Now he can summon ball games, news, or whatever he wants without fear of getting up and falling down. A perfect solution!

Magic!!!
I am no tech expert but these little guys are magic! We had just put in a wall of built-ins and desperately wanted to hide our cable box behind a cabinet, but with it being infrared this would not work without these little repeaters! First off I just have to say that the Sewell customer service is off the charts. You actually get to speak to a real person right away, no annoying menu after menu trying to get help. They helped us so much when we hit a couple snags. Here are a couple things that I figured out that I hope will help others. First you can hide both of these little discs, they both come with tiny little eyes that can attach to your tv and cable box or whatever you are trying to use them for, and they are nearly invisible. Second, don’t get nervous when you plug them into the power outlet and the lights don’t come on, this is ok and they aren’t supposed to stay on, they kind of blink here and there, and only when you use your remote. Third, we have an Altice One cable box (not the mini, just a regular cable box) and it was impossible to find the eye to attach the emitter’s eye (Side note: we had to put the emitter disc on top of the cable box because we couldn’t fit the emitter disc pointing in front of cable box. The directions give you both options though and you can basically put it anywhere as long as the eyes attach). The phone trick did not work on this particular cable box. But after trying about a dozen different spots on the front of the box we finally got it to work by putting the eye right on where the digital clock numbers are. I put it basically right on top of the colon (:). Cable vision was no help with this so I hope this can save others from our frustration. After we found the eye everything came together and worked perfectly! No more do we need to keep the cabinet open to change channels… it’s a miracle!!! Hope these little guys work forever.
