When IOTA's Tales was first released more than a decade ago, it immediately heralded a change in the scope of heavy rock 'n' roll. From the hard punch of it's opening duo 'New Mantis' and 'We Are The Yithians,' it departed into three extended cuts that drew together already-classic elements of weighted riffs with a doors-thrown-open sense of space and jammed into scorched-solo psychedelic oblivion. With Joey Toscano, who'd go on to form Dwellers, on guitar and vocals, the suitably wizardly Oz on bass, and recording engineer Andy Patterson, who soon enough would join SubRosa, IOTA raised a monolith of singular intent and showed throughout Tales a potential that was entirely their own. The Salt Lake City trio had been around for over five years by then, having formed in 2002 and released two demos before the album as they earned local praise and found themselves supporting the likes of Brant Bjork, High On Fire, Black Cobra, Eternal Elysium, The Sword, and others. And that's all well and good, but it would be Tales that defined them, whether it was 'The Sleeping Heathen' started off at a sprint on it's ten-minute run, 'Opiate Blues' sure enough finding room for some harp alongside it's dirt-covered riffs and foresight-laden heavy blues pulsations, or the massive sprawl of the twenty-two-minute 'Dimensional Orbiter' that dream-jammed it's way toward the outer reaches of cosmic sensation. Tantric, broad, and a gorgeous showcase of a dynamic ready to storm the earth, it helped earn Iota a cult following that persists over ten years later. And along with anyone else who might be fortunate to stumble upon it, that cult, quite frankly, deserves to have Tales on vinyl. This is the first official LP release of the album, so call it a reissue or don't. It doesn't matter. Music this good exists out of time, and whether IOTA's Tales is new to a listener or a well-kept secret regarded as a classic unto itself, it still sounds as far-reaching as it did when the band unfurled it the first time around. It wasn't to be missed then. It's not to be missed now [words by JJ Koczan]. Small Stone Recordings will release IOTA's Tales full-length on vinyl for the first time ever on March 15th. Limited to 500 units in a clear with black swirl color combination, Tales was remastered for vinyl by Chris Goosman at Baseline Audio in Ann Arbor, Michican with the original running order of the album slightly altered to fit on the LP format. Have bought a few of these over the last handful of years
Color: Red
Best toy outside of Ghonuts for heavy chewers. Even outlasts the most durable Kongs. I'd say we get about four months before our dog starts really making a dent in it and the size of the pieces he pulls off start to become larger and I should probably replace it after about six months. It's cheap enough that replacing it that often is fine.
*Important note* using squishy toys for heavy chewers is really important. They can break their teeth on hard toys like Nyla bones and things like antlers can break and cut them and damage their digestive system if they swallow the shards. It sucks because my dog loved Nyla bones and would chew off an inch a day, but I couldn't risk his teeth like that.

Finally - a tug toy my dog hasn’t destroyed!

This completely exceeded my expectations! My dog is roughly a year old, about 110-115lbs and a TOUGH chewer. He loved tugs toys but none of them last more than 10 minutes with him. I decided to try this because of the other reviews and price but wasn’t expecting it to last long. He’s had it almost a week and it’s still completely intact. It’s definitely heavy so it might not be best for smaller dogs but if you have a big dog/heavy chewer definitely give this a shot!

Indestructible so far

My toy destroyer has had this for almost two months now and it hasn’t taken any damage. It is big and heavy and solid. It became one of his favorites immediately and goes in and out of the house and even to bed with him.
Now if only we could find a stuffy that he can’t destroy.

MY DOG'S AREN'T INTERESTED ...
Color: Red
This is a large, heavy, hard rubber toy, so is of high quality. However, it is SO heavy that neither my 60-lb. female Boxer nor my 80-lb. male Bully will 'play' with it at all. They don't even chew on it. So, although it would probably be pretty indestructible, I have no way to verify that, since neither of my dogs show any interest at all. I've tried encouraging them, by holding on one end of it and encouraging them to grab the other end, but even that didn't work. Perhaps a much larger 'giant' breed dog would enjoy it.
