Were it not for the Buddhadharma, says Charles Johnson in his preface to Turning the Wheel, I'm convinced that, as a black American and an artist, I would not have been able to successfully negotiate my last half century of life in this country. Or at least not with a high level of creative productivity. In this collection of provocative and intimate essays, Johnson writes of the profound connection between Buddhism and creativity, and of the role of Eastern philosophy in the quest for a free and thoughtful life. In 1926, W. E. B. Du Bois asked African-Americans what they would most want were the color line miraculously forgotten. In Turning the Wheel, Johnson sets out to explore this question by examining his experiences both as a writer and as a practitioner of Buddhism. He looks at basic Buddhist principles and practices, demonstrating how Buddhism is both the most revolutionary and most civilized of possible human choices. He discusses fundamental Buddhist practices such as the Eightfold Path, Taming the Mind, and Sangha and illuminates their place in the American Civil Rights movement. Johnson moves from spiritual guides to spiritual nourishment: writing. In essays touching on the role of the black intellectual, Uncle Tom's Cabin, and Ralph Ellison, Johnson uses tools of Buddhist thinking to clarify difficult ideas. Powerful and revelatory, these essays confirm that writing and reading, along with Buddhism, are the basic components that make up a thoughtful life.Binding Type: Paperback

Perfect for on the go use.
The Lisen Wireless charger is perfect for on the go pop in and pop out when needed. It’s very functional and only needs one hand use to lock or unlock. It fits perfectly on the air vent. It’s look sleek and well made. The charging speed may be slow unfortunately.

Good, except for release button placement
This works well. It’s easy to install, charges your phone well, and mounts to the vent securely. Simply set your phone on it and squeeze the arms to grip it. I like that it’s manual, so you can open and close it even without power.
However, the release button is centered on the back, which means that to press/squeeze it, you have to put your thumb right on the middle of your phone screen. It can interfere with whatever I’m using my phone for at the time or just wake it up unnecessarily. Not a huge deal, but it would be great if they moved the button to the side so you can squeeze side to side to release the grip, rather than front to back.

Great product if you’d like to talk and keep your phone charged at the same time
I really really like these. I have two one in my truck one in my car I like it because I can put my headphones in while it’s being charged so I can talk on long drives like four hour drives and the battery never goes dead and I have the ability to utilize the plug-in. I don’t like Wi-Fi. I have a tendency to lose them so I like old-fashioned wire it just is my preference.
