On March 20, 2020, Icelandic singer, songwriter and music producer Aslaug will release her highly anticipated self-titled debut EP. Aslaug Vigfusdottir was born in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Taking inspiration from artists like The Japanese House, HAIM and Lykke LI, Aslaug blends dreamy synth chords, polyphonic drifts of vocals and emotive drum builds.'My grandmother, whom I was named after, was raised on a farm in the south of Iceland. She gave birth to her only daughter at the age of 21 and did not marry the father. My grandmother worked multiple jobs from a young age to provide for her daughter in the best way she could. Being the only child of a single mother, my own mother always had to rely on herself to get further in life. Making the choice to become a nurse, a profession that she chose because she wanted to be able to work in different countries, she made it her lifework to help other people. Meeting the love of her life at, what others would call the late, age of 33, she moved abroad with him to start a family and continued her work, building an international career. With role models like these I can't help but feel confident in my own resilience. Turbulence will come, and sometimes I might even cross my own boundaries, but that's part of life. My grandmother has said these all-encompassing words to herself, to my mother and to me:

Good, but size up!

These are exactly what I wanted, but as many have stated, you need to size up. I found that going up two sizes (from my usual 28 to a 30) made for a great fit. I love that they come in a 29 length. One anything point is they came with creases in them from being folded in the package for a length of time. I had to steam and press them before wearing. I’ll likely buy them in other colors.

order 3 or 4 inches up than your usual waist, run very small in waist

arrived with dirt on the bottom legs but amazon helped with that. anyway I weigh 115 lbs and am 5'8 and I am a woman. I know that Dickies these days run super small for their size, so it sounds insane but order up 4 inches than your normal waist size, then run small in the waist and they will shrink a size with a few washings. I ordered a 33 waist and they did shrink probably a size in one wash lol! they are still a bit loose in the waist but not big and I know with a couple more washings they will be just right. I do not like anything skinny fit or with no give. but yah, I love the charcoal gray color, one of my favorite colors, much cooler than plain black. I normally enjoy the Dickies shorts but with these forty something degree afternoons these are my new go tos. I am not a jeans person and I sure as hell with not be wearing pajama pants out in public like these dang younger adults lately.

Comfort and Appearance

The shoes were as advertised. Marc Joseph (I hav 4 other pairs) are the perfect shoes for me with my physical needs. Additionally they are exceptionally comfortable and attractive. This pair I returned because they weren’t quite the right fit for me. They are, like my other Marc Joseph shoes, very well made and very attractive.
