Since ancient times, orchid (蘭) has long been associated with hermits, scholars and spiritual cultivators because they embody quiet elegance, purity, and inner strength. Unlike flowers that bloom loudly in crowded gardens, wild orchids often bloom quietly in deep valleys unseen by the world, the same places where hermits and Taoist practitioners sought enlightenment and harmony with nature.

Therefore, orchid incense (蘭香) holds an exceptionally important place in the history of traditional incense making. Even today, We can still trace and study ancient orchid formulas that have been passed down from incense masters of the Tang Dynasty. 

The HERMIT ORCHID we are launching this month represents my entirely new exploration of the orchid theme. What makes it different is that I have used Sinking agarwood to construct a wondrous valley, within which the fragrance of orchids is hidden like hermits. When you walk into the valley searching for them, you will suddenly discover them blooming beautifully. 

What makes this incense even more unique is that it dissolves the boundary between pure agarwood and traditional blended incense. At moments, you may feel like the rich and profound pure agarwood sticks we released before, while at other moments, unexpected aromatic transformations begin to emerge from within the composition. For me, this work represents a new exploration in my incense making journey over all these years, a work that moves beyond the traditional distinction between pure agarwood incense and classical blended fragrance.
