This JW Steel Crafts Damascus kitchen knife set is built for both outdoor cooking environments and professional kitchen use. Blade sizes run from 6 inches on the smallest knife up to 10 inches on the largest. Every handle is shaped from black resin and fitted with a steel bolster. The meat cleaver includes a hanging hole for wall or rack storage. A leather roll and wooden block are both included for transport and counter storage.

This is the only set in the JW Steel Crafts lineup that combines black resin handles, a cleaver with a hanging hole, and a rustic outdoor style in a matched 7-piece Damascus configuration.

What Is Inside the Set

  • Serrated Bread Knife — Clean draw cuts through crusted bread and soft interiors, with the largest blade at 10 inches
  • Carving Knife — Long, precise strokes for roasts and large protein cuts
  • Meat Cleaver — Heavy chopping and protein breakdown, fitted with a hanging hole for storage
  • Chef Knife — Primary chopping, slicing, and general kitchen prep
  • Utility Knife — Versatile mid-range prep for everyday cutting tasks
  • Paring Knife — Peeling, trimming, and fine detail work
  • Peeler Knife — Precision trimming and controlled fine preparation, with the smallest blade at 6 inches

Seven knives. Seven distinct roles. The cleaver hanging hole and black resin handle combination make this set visually and functionally distinct from every other set in the JW Steel Crafts store.

Blade Performance

Every blade is forged from layered Damascus steel. The layering process strengthens the steel and supports consistent edge retention across heavy and detailed cutting tasks. The 10-inch serrated bread knife handles full loaves and crusty bread cleanly without compressing the interior. The meat cleaver manages heavy chopping and protein breakdown. The carving knife delivers long, clean strokes through roasts and large cuts. Full tang construction runs through every handle for even weight distribution and stable handling across all seven knives.

Handle and Bolster Construction

Every handle is shaped from black resin. Black resin does not absorb moisture, does not swell, and holds its surface finish through heavy daily use and outdoor conditions. The dark finish gives this set a clean, rustic visual identity that stands apart from wood and pakka wood handle sets in the JW Steel Crafts lineup. Steel bolsters sit between each blade and handle. They add front-end weight for better cutting balance and protect your fingers from slipping onto the edge during heavy prep work.

Cleaver Hanging Hole

The meat cleaver includes a hanging hole at the top of the blade spine. This lets you hang the cleaver on a hook, rack, or wall mount for quick access and safe storage. It is a practical detail for outdoor kitchens, camp cooking setups, and professional prep stations where counter space is limited.

Storage and Transport

This set includes both a leather roll and a wooden block. The leather roll holds all seven knives securely during transport and outdoor use. The wooden block provides safe, organised counter storage in your kitchen. Both are included with this set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the hanging hole on the cleaver for?

The hanging hole sits at the top of the cleaver spine. It lets you hang the cleaver on a wall hook, magnetic rack, or ceiling mount for quick access and safe storage.

Why are black resin handles better for outdoor use?

Black resin does not absorb moisture, does not swell or crack in humid conditions, and holds its surface finish through heavy field use. It performs better than untreated wood in wet outdoor environments and requires less maintenance over time.

What is the blade size range across all seven knives?

The serrated bread knife is the largest at 10 inches overall. The peeler knife is the smallest at 6 inches. Every knife between those sizes is built for a specific preparation task.

Does the serrated bread knife work on foods other than bread?

Yes. The serrated edge works well on tomatoes, citrus fruits, and other soft-skinned ingredients that a smooth blade tends to compress rather than cut cleanly.

An empty-hearted effort
Format: Kindle
Managing personal efficiency is no doubt an important skill. And judging from the author's success from the first book, I assume he is a credible author. But this book is just way too shallow and lacks the evidence of any sinerity for the readers. If you are new to the concept of life efficiency management, it might be good to read his first book. If you are looking for a good framework or advice on how to achieve your goal, then you will for sure be disappointed. This whole book is just about stressing the importance of efficiency management. Absolutely anything else!

Book Review of The Alchemist
Format: Paperback
In The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho uses diction, syntax, and the hero cycle to keep the pace of the book constant, and keep the reader intrigued. But, he does have a few flaws present in the book. The Alchemist is a book about a boy named Santiago, who goes on an adventure to find his “Personal Legend” or treasure. Coelho uses the hero cycle to add more emphasis on the plot, which overall makes the story more entertaining. In the story, the Old King tells Santiago that “when someone wants to realize his or her Personal Legend,” he will “always [be] nearby.” (67) This is an example of atonement with the father, because the Old King’s closeness creates a father like figure in him, who is there to support Santiago. The hero cycle for me made the story more enjoyable and kept me reading. Also most of the book is him trying to obtain his Personal Legend, which is “what you have always wanted to accomplish.” (23) Compared to other books I have read this year in my English class, this one was easier to follow in terms of diction. The language that Paulo Coelho uses in the novel overall is not too difficult to understand. Word choice is done very well, and lets the reader flow through the book at a constant pace. The diction also makes the book a novel for a wide range of readers. The hero cycle with the clean diction made the story very enjoyable. While reading this book, I found that it was fairly easy to understand the passage, and that it was very inviting. Paulo Coelho structures the syntax of the book in an easy-to-understand format. Throughout the book, the syntax helps the reader understand where they are on the page, and it also positively affects the pace set by the diction in the book. Towards the middle of the novel, the boy says that “An army is coming,” and he knows because he “had a vision.” This dialogue is quickly followed up by a response from a camel driver, saying that “the desert fills men’s hearts with visions.” (104) The quick pace of dialogue keeps the book driving keeps the pace constantly in motion. The syntax made it easier for me to follow the story and follow which character was speaking and what they where feeling or doing. Even though I enjoyed a great bit of the book, there was still another bit that I didn’t fully enjoy. At the beginning of the Alchemist, the book seems to go a slower speed then the rest of it. The first portion of the book has a lot to do with introducing Santiago, the plot, the setting, and more. There is a part in the story where it goes from page 35 to page 38 with very little dialogue, which I felt stopped progress of the story. The first part also has to do a lot with how he discovers his Personal Legend. It took me a little while longer to read the first part of the book then the rest because I was mostly bored while reading it. I also felt that there was more descriptive text than the rest of the book, which really dragged out the first part. In conclusion, the book has lots of great traits and only a few bad ones. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend or anyone who enjoys reading about adventure.

Interesting story
Format: Paperback
The Alchemist is an engaging modern fable centered on self-discovery, personal destiny, and following your dreams. It offers interesting life lessons and an easy-to-read story. While its themes draw on various spiritual ideas and may feel unconventional, it still delivers meaningful reflections on purpose and perseverance. Overall, a thought-provoking and enjoyable read.
