Libec TH-650X Video Tripod System: The Definitive Lightweight Choice for Creators

For solo content creators, indie filmmakers, and mobile vloggers, striking the perfect balance between professional stability and ultra-lightweight portability can be tough. The Libec 65mm ball video head / Tripod / Carrying case system (the highly acclaimed TH-650X model) offers an ideal solution. This highly optimized, all-in-one camera support package features a precise payload capacity of 3kg (6.5 lbs), making it a perfect match for modern hybrid systems, compact mirrorless setups, DSLRs, and lightweight camcorders.

Whether you are capturing high-definition corporate videos, capturing run-and-gun street interviews, or shooting a documentary on location, this lightweight video tripod system provides smooth camera work without breaking your back—or your budget.

Smooth Movements via Continuous Friction Control

At the heart of this nimble support kit is the reimagined Libec 65mm ball video head. Unlike bulkier studio heads that utilize heavy, stepped drag selectors, this head features an integrated Continuous Friction Control mechanism. By simply turning the ergonomic pan and tilt knobs, camera operators can smoothly modulate the internal drag tension to perfectly complement the pacing of their shot.

  • Jerky-Free Panning: This fluid system eliminates sudden micro-stutters when starting or stopping a pan, yielding buttery-smooth horizontal tracking shots.

  • Precise Tilting: With a generous tilt angle range of +90° to -70°, you can effortlessly frame dramatic low-to-high crane-style perspectives or track vertical motion without sudden drops.

The system also features a built-in fixed counterbalance system, engineered explicitly to keep compact mirrorless and DSLR configurations resting safely at zero gravity without tipping forward or backward.

The Versatility of the Dual-Head Base Design

Libec has brought its high-end architectural philosophy to its travel-tier gear via the Dual-Head mechanism. The fluid head features a hybrid base that functions as both a 65mm half-ball and a flat-bottom mount.

  • On the Tripod: Drop the 65mm ball base directly into the tripod bowl to instantly square up and level your horizons on uneven outdoor terrain.

  • On Alternative Rigs: Unscrew the under-bowl clamp to reveal standard flat-mount threads. This allows you to attach the video head directly to slider carriages (like the Libec ALX series), tabletop dollies, or photography monopods for multi-axis tracking.

Fast Balancing with Arca-Swiss Cross-Compatibility

Time on set is a finite resource, and swapping between hand-held photography and stabilized video shooting can easily stall your workflow. The fluid head utilizes an industry-standard Arca-Swiss compatible sliding quick-release plate.

This feature allows you to seamlessly slide your camera straight from an Arca-Swiss gimbal or photo tripod plate directly onto this fluid head. The plate features a sliding range of +/- 1.2 inches (+/- 30mm), allowing you to fine-tune and balance front-heavy telephoto zooms or rear-heavy video accessories in seconds.

Super Lightweight, 2-Stage Aluminum Legs

A high-performance fluid head requires a rigid base to maximize efficiency. The accompanying 2-stage aluminum tripod legs have been built from the ground up to minimize bulk while maximizing structural strength.

  • Remarkably Light Carry: Through extensive material optimization, the complete system weighs an astonishingly light 5.9 lbs (2.7 kg)—making it one of the lightest professional-tier tripods on the market.

  • Expanded Height Range: Featuring a 3-section layout, the legs smoothly transition from a low-angle minimum height of 28 inches (71 cm) up to an eye-level maximum height of 61.2 inches (155.5 cm).

  • Rigid Anti-Twist Design: An integrated mid-level spreader locks the leg angles firmly into position, combating the twist forces that occur during fast panning sweeps.

  • Evolved Ergonomics: Upgraded flip-leg locks enable rapid deployment, while three accessory ports (1/4" and 3/8" threads) on the tripod cast let you stably mount external monitors, audio recorders, or articulation arms.

Travel Convenience with Carrying Handle and Case

Portability is enhanced by an integrated carrying handle built directly into the tripod leg structure, ensuring quick pick-up-and-go handling on busy sets. When it's time to pack up, the entire system folds away cleanly into the included padded carrying case. This heavy-duty nylon bag features thick interior insulation to safeguard your fluid head and leg castings from impacts, scratches, and dust during transit.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.

Pretty Darn Good
Format: Kindle
So I’ve been on a omega kick and this definitely hit the spot. Madison was frustrating at times with how she acted towards Lucas, Gray, and Rian. It was like she said towards the end, she didn’t believe she deserved nice things. It would have been nice to hear from her best friends again. They kind of were there in the beginning and the gone except for mention of text messages received from them. I feel like her friends would have been great help in encouraging Madison to go with the pack and never give Brent another chance because he was toxic. I loved Rian. His personality was awesome. His humor. His ability to make Madison comfortable whenever she was feeling overwhelmed. And the fact he fell for her and she fell for him first. They are cute together. I do feel like Lucas was the odd man out though. Like Lucas didn’t develop as much of a relationship with Madison. I would have really liked to see more development in the relationship between them. It was also the same with him and Rian. There is really no relationship displayed. Most of the relationship being displayed is between Rian and Gray. Nevertheless, I loved reading about the dynamic that came to fruition during the entirety of this story. Madison finally got her happiness. And Brent finally got punched in the face. Everyone got exactly what they deserve.

Pack's Promise was okay but not great
Format: Kindle
Pack's Promise was okay but not great. I won't recommend it to anyone that I know. PRO: * Very likable characters * Lots of steamy scenes that are written very well * The spelling and grammar are good * The punctuation is good with the exception of using hyphens instead of commas. Lots of hyphens. Lots and lots of hyphens. CON: * Almost no interactions with any characters outside of Madison and the pack * Nearly no plot. They meet, get together for a heat, agree to make it permanent, done * Quite a few typos such as extraneous words, missing words and words out of order THINGS TO KNOW: * More steamy scenes than storytelling * A lot of MM & MMM, some MFMM during heat
