Important Note: Unfortunately shipping delays have impacted availability of our usual packaging style of honey bottles. To ensure ongoing supply of maple syrup for you, we're temporarily using a different bottle. Please note the product still weighs 375gm.

Did you hear about what happened when pure Allulose met up with pure sugar-free maple extract from Canada? Silky smooth, incredible tasting maple syrup ; ) And just like a good rom-com, this zero carb real true Maple Syrup is so good for the body, heart and soul.

What this maple syrup is
• Deliciously smooth, incredible tasting maple syrup made with real ingredients.
• Sweetened by Allulose, a natural sweetener with no weird after-taste.
• Plant-based, 100% pure ingredients
• A syrup that has zero carbs and only 23 calories per 100g, that's all.
• Made right here in New Zealand.

What this maple syrup is NOT
• NOT just maple-flavoured gloopy chemical-based water
Ours is made using pure sugar-free authentic Canadian maple extract.
• NO weird chemical / synthetic after taste.
Ours is a supplemented food, which means it's made using Allulose, famous for its taste and texture and health properties.
• NO E466 Carboxymethylcellulose
Most other sugar-free maple-flavoured syrups contain E466 which research linking the same findings across humans and animals, destroys gut-health which other studies say elevates risks of Breast, Prostate and Colon Cancer!

Why this Maple Syrup is CMC free
An alarming study in 2015 proved causation between CMC to deterioration of gut bacteria, inflammatory bowel disease symptoms, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Four separate animal studies have also linked CMC causing increased risks and incidences of Cancer.

In February 2024 the results of a nearly 7 year long mass scale 92,000 human study linked CMC to significant deterioration of gut bacteria and inflammatory bowel disease symptoms. The cancer-causing part of CMC testing wasn’t conclusive in adult humans due to the challenges in tracking and measuring consumption. However the animal study that did show it, shared the human study's exact same findings about gut health too. And separate studies have linked poor gut health to be the cause of several (breast, prostate and colon) cancers.

In summary, CMC is really ultra nasty to health and it's in other brands of sugar-free maple-flavoured syrups by Lakanto or called E466 vegetable gum (by Queen Fine Foods). If you want a deeper delve into the shocking research findings about E466 you'll find our blog here.

How to use
We have opted to make the viscosity of this maple syrup on the thicker side. If you prefer yours to be runny, either pour the syrup over a hot dish (hmmm pancakes!) or give the bottle a nice warm water bath before use.

How to store
This maple syrup is best placed in a pantry or cool dry place. Taste wise, room temperature / warm trumps cold anything. We've had the best experience keeping it in the pantry and a gentle reminder, we are unable to accept returns on opened food.

Please note
Best kept above 10°C like in a pantry, or if your place goes below, in the hot water cupboard. If refrigerated, that increases the chance of ice-like crystals forming or the syrup may start to look a bit cloudy. From our experience, once chilled the maple syrup might take ages to get out of the bottle due to it's ultra thickness. When the product is stored cold, the tiny crystals of maple would also become visible and could group together like a big cuddle.

Fixing any crystals
Should this maple syrup crystalise or go a little cloudy as mentioned above, it's just a sure sign that you're not eating enough of it. The crystals still taste fine and some might like their crunchy texture. If not, to remove crystals, tip out the liquid contents out of the bottle into a pot and gently heat for 5 minutes. Stir well, and do not bring to a boil, as that removes more liquid, leaving more crystals. Pour the slightly warmed syrup back into the bottle to release any crystals still hanging out in there, then pour the whole lot back into the pot. Gently heat for longer until the crystals disappear and become incorporated back into the liquid.

You will notice when heated, the syrup goes quite runny, so stir really well to get an even consistency. It will thicken up as it cools back down to room temperature again. Wait for the syrup to cool down before pouring back into the bottle, otherwise you risk melting the bottle.

Public Service Announcement - unhealthy E466 / CMC
We made this product to give you a healthier alternative to the sugar-free maple flavoured syrups that contain an unnatural, synthetic, health deteriorating, thickener ingredient E466 Carboxymethylcellulose or CMC for short.

Some manufacturers are misrepresenting E466 labelling it as a vegetable
Unlike what it says on the Queen Food’s product label, CMC is not a natural healthy sounding vegetable at all. Lakanto syrups also contain CMC and it’s listed as a gum. CMC is a synthetic ingredient made from wood pulp and cotton lint treated with acid to break it all down to form CMC. It is interesting to note that the Queen Fine Food's own website does not list the ingredients for their sugar-free maple-flavoured syrup, and that product’s back panel image is noticeably missing in action too.

A deeper dive into the research
Check out our blog here for more details about what this alarming study discovered about the E466 food emulsifier and other studies results about this harmful synthetic ingredient.

The only chew toy that has actualy held up...for well over 2 years!
Size: Medium, Style: 4 Pack, Size: Medium, Style: 4 Pack
These things are amazing! They last forever even with dogs that can destroy nearly everything else in mins! I ordered these as a doggie Xmas gift over TWO YEARS AGO, and they are still pretty much fully intact! They chew on them all the time, too!(see pics; that's over two years of steady use!) I only got the one 4 pack, and have 4 dogs, too! Since making them so well does kind of reduce my ability to buy many more from them, I feel I should at least let people know they really are crazy durable and dogs love them! I will prob buy another 4 pack soon, just so they are easier to find(end up under couches, etc). Def a good buy!!!!

Built for heavy chewers and actually holds up
Size: Medium, Style: Fishbone/Wishbone
This chew toy is a total win for heavy chewers and has held up really well compared to so many others we’ve tried. It keeps dogs busy for long stretches and they stay genuinely interested in it instead of destroying it in minutes. The shape makes it easy for them to grip and chew comfortably, which adds to how much they use it. The durability is the real standout here, making it one of those rare toys that actually earns a repurchase. The material feels sturdy, it’s easy to clean, and there’s no noticeable odor, which is always a plus.

Definitely recommend
Size: Large, Style: 4 Pack
My dogs absolutely love these! I bought them at a great price! They have lasted my dogs over a year! I have a full pitbull, pit/lab, pit/boxer, and a pit/mastiff. So needless to say they pass the power jaw test. They look just like the pictures and they are pretty light weight!

Benebone is fantastic for heavy chewers and busy, adolescent pups!
Size: Medium, Style: 4 Pack
This little multi-pack is cost-effective in a few ways, super durable and effective, and I'll definitely be purchasing the multi-pack again. We discovered these about a year ago and have been buying them ever since. I'm just now getting around to reviewing them because they're that good, plus I love that the company is family-owned. Four "bones" lasts a little over a month for a power chewer, which is a bargain! You get 4 medium size "bones" for the retail price of 2. These smell delicious to dogs but humans can detect the odor, which is so nice. They are incredibly durable, but somehow also not too hard for a power chewer, and they keep pup from chewing on books and other items that we don't wanted chewed to bits. Heavy chewers (and their people!) love these and the variety of shapes means we can swap them out in rotation and keep pup's interest going for a few weeks. Wait until your pup has all of their adult teeth, as they are a little too hard for teething. And for super power chewers, watch out for the fish shaped chew, as this one seems to allow larger pieces to be chewed off the fish head "corners" more easily due to the relative thinness of the shape at that point when compared to the other 3 shapes. Keep an eye on how much your power chewer is taking off of these "bones" (little tiny pieces do get chewed off) and toss them (or recycle with Benebone!) when your dog is able to chew off more than a crumb size piece. Hooray for Benebone! Hooray for family-owned businesses! We'll be back for more!
