The Mesa is the Ancient Andean tradition of the ‘Portable Altar’ central to all Ritual and Ceremony.

The cloths are used to house Sacred items - stones, crystals, shells and metals that are used in powerful healing rituals.

‘Mesa’ translates directly to ‘table’. Our work with the Mesa calls on the highest beings of light to ‘the table’ to assist us in anything we need for our healing work.

The cloths are also used as Altar cloths for your home altar or for your Ceremonies.

They are traditionally woven from hand grown, hand spun and hand dyed Alpacka wool and each cloth carries the weaving of a story. Ancient symbols of the lineages of different High Andean communities that call forth the guidance, protection and wisdom of the Ancestors, our Apu’s (Mountains), Pachamama (Mother Earth) and her powerful ally spirits and elemental forces and the Celestial and Cosmic realms.

To hold one of these Sacred weavings is to hold a living prayer — an emanation of Apu Ausangate’s blessing, carried through the hands, hearts, and breath of the Andean weavers, the children of Apu Ausangate. Each thread is spun from the alpacas who graze upon his Sacred slopes, their wool imbued with the Mountain’s essence of protection, strength, and purification. The dyes are drawn from the Earth’s own palette — roots, flowers, and minerals that echo the songs of the valleys. Every cloth and Sacred item is not merely woven, but dreamed into being through Ceremony, through song, and through prayer.

Lovingly created by María and José Luis and their family, who live beneath the watchful gaze of Apu Ausangate, these weavings carry the living light and lineage of the Mountain itself. When you receive them, you are not simply receiving an object — you are welcoming the living presence of Apu Ausangate into your home and MESA — a Guardian and Teacher of Wisdom, Harmony, Remembrance, and Munay, the frequency of Unconditional Love.

These precious cloths take months to create and hand weave and are a Sacred item you will carry with you forever or pass on as a gift of your lineage.
