Het permanent elastische windsel verliest zijn elasticiteit niet tijdens gebruik. Hetverband geeft een hoge werkdruk en een lage rustdruk en is dus ook geschikt voor personen die voornamelijk zitten. Normaliter kan de zwachtel ´s nachts worden verwijderd en ´s ochtends opnieuw worden aangebracht. Om het beste resultaat te bereiken, verdient het aanbeveling dunne benen eerst in watten te wikkelen tot ze een normale dikte hebben.
