De steekwerend vest "Basic Economic" werd speciaal ontwikkel om vrij discreet onder een sweatshirt of pullover te dragen. De vest is geheel rondom voorzien van een 2,2mm dik kunststoffen harnas. De Basic Economic vest is voorzien van twee zakken ( voor en achter) om harde beschermingsplaten in te stoppen. Bij deze Basic Economic vest worden er twee harde aluminium platen geleverd met een dikte van 1.2 mm. De steekweerstand op de harde platen met het kunststof harnas eronder is ongeveer 14 Joule. Deze twee harde platen beschermen vooral de hart- en maagstreek voor en achter tegen een directe steekaanval. De hoogte van de kunststof plaat is beperkt en loopt niet tot de schouders om voldoende bewegingvrijheid te hebben.-
Door het gebruik van twee harde aluminium platen is de vest ook slagwerend en beschermt hij de drager tegen stok- en vuistslagen. Het zachte kunststof harnas biedt een elementaire bescherming tegen een aanval met gebroken glazen terwijl de plaat een bescherming bied tegen messen, priemen en naalden.

De vest is zowel boven, als aan de zijkanten, verstelbaar door middel van een klittenbandsluiting.

De vest is vooral geschikt om discreet onder de kledij te dragen bij evenementenbeveiliging, portiers, ambulance personeel, enz.

Objectief gezien is dit een elementaire discrete steekwerende basis vest die de meest vitale organen beschermt tegen een steekaanval tot 14 Joule. Deze vest is geschikt voor plaatsen waar er reeds een toegangscontrole is op gevaarlijke steekwapens en waar de steekwerende bedreiging eerder afkomstig is van opportuniteitswapens zoals gebroken glazen, kleine zakmessen, multi-tools of ander kleine steekwapens.

Geen enkel steekwerende vest is steekvrij! Indien er met groter krachten gestoken wordt dan 14 Joule dan kan het zijn dat het steekwapen door de vest gaat!

Rick Howard's latest book is the ultimate reference for cybersecurity practitioners, making it an essential read for anyone in the field. With his straightforward and refreshingly irreverent writing style, coupled with his profound technical knowledge, Rick has created a narrative that is easy to understand and grasp. He delves into the foundational aspect of cybersecurity, which he refers to as the cybersecurity first principle, which he then it to specific high-impact strategies.
The book has eight well-written chapters providing a comprehensive overview of those strategies. Absolute must read if you oversee any portion of a cyber security program!
Format: Paperback
I loved this book. The concepts and ideas presented are a great wake up call for an industry that is so focused on blinking light hardware and the next big technological thing...this book challenges the paradigm that you need to strip your security culture down to some very core ideas...then build a solid security program around your security first principle(s). Without that core idea, you're just throwing away money on tools that may not actually be addressing your root needs.
Great read for anyone looking to rethink their security program, security culture, and security spend.

Context, Strategies and Wisdom in a single package
Format: Kindle
This was my first book I have read by this particular author. I had spent some time looking for a comphrensive approach to Cyber Security and found many other texts to be lacking. Certain aspects are well documented, but no single source that brought it all together. This is exactly what First Principles brings to the table. As a practicioner that looks for better ways to formulate the objectives of SecOps Use Cases I have found the methods presented in this book to be immensely helpful. I have also given copies aways as a gifts to students who are just entering the field as this is by far the best intro to the long history of Cyber Security that combines the best direction for the future. The historical context that the author brings through first hand experience is beyond a treasure trove. It has been said many times in cheezy ads, but honestly, if you only read one book on Cyber Security make it this one.

Every cybersecurity professional should read this book, probably twice
Format: Audiobook
This is the Phoenix Project for cybersecurity professionals.
Every chapter of this book brought clarity and a new perspective from the way industry approaches aspects of cybersecurity. The book won’t be all things to everyone, nor is it perfect, but its the single most practical and effective approach to cybersecurity I’ve found. In a time where IT is excruciatingly complex and securing environments seems like an impossible task, this has been invaluable and has affected how I think about the future.
Im not associated with the author in any way. Im just in a leadership role facing these challenges every day and I think this book may some day become mandatory reading in the field.
