Eugene A. Grey is an Indigenous artist from Port Lincoln, South Australia. He commenced his painting journey two decades ago and has acknowledged Albert Namatjira and Wendy Fiefar Nannup as his principal sources of inspiration for his landscape artworks.

The Wirangu are an Aboriginal Australian group with traditional lands on the western coast of South Australia. They have been granted native title to over 5,000 square kilometres of land, encompassing Streaky Bay, the sacred rocks at Murphy's Haystacks, and other areas. The Wirangu language is part of the Thura-Yura language group and is still spoken, with resources available for learning it.

The Wirangu have a rich oral tradition, with stories that link their people to specific places and landscapes. These stories, often passed down through generations, help maintain the cultural connection to the land.

About the Painting

The Wirangu people are deeply connected to their ancestral lands, and this connection is often expressed through art, storytelling, and cultural practices that reflect the landscape. Their art often uses natural colors like blues, greens, and browns, and incorporates traditional symbolism to convey their identity and connection to the land. The Eyre Peninsula, where the Wirangu traditionally lived, is a region of significant cultural importance, with places like Lake Newland holding stories about the Seven Sisters constellation.

Eugene's painting presents a visual representation of the Wirangu people’s profound relationship with their ancestral land. In Eugene's words, "It captures the essence of our culture, the importance of community, and the vitality of the land and waterways that sustain them." Through the use of natural greens and browns, as well as traditional symbolism, this artwork conveys a powerful message regarding the identity of the Wirangu tribe and their connection to their country.

One pot grinder
Unit holds enough grounds to make one pot at a time. I was expecting a bit larger. But it works good enough for the mis-bought beans instead of grounds.

Works well, easy to use
Great little hand grinder. So much easier to use than the last one I purchased. I moved and both of my electric grinders & my hand grinder are still somewhere in storage. This easily portable gadget has been a lifesaver at a decent price. Seems sturdy enough after using it a few weeks.

Better than expected
This thing is great. I wasn't sure what to expect for the price, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. I have no complaints, quality is fine, the grind is fine, it's easy to use. I've used mine every day since I purchased it and it works good as new. This is my first manual burr grinder, so there could very well be better ones out there, but I am very happy with this purchase.
